Dr. Casey Hoy

My past research has included systems analysis and its application to integrated pest management and applied ecology. As the W. K. Kellogg Foundation Endowed Chair in Agricultural Ecosystems Management from 2006 - 2021, I provided interdisciplinary leadership for scientists in many disciplines devoted to simultaneous ecological, economic and social improvements in agricultural ecosystems, toward advancements in agroecosystem health and sustainable communities (http://amp.osu.edu). From 2014 – 2021, I also served as the Faculty Director for the Initiative for Food and AgriCultural Transformation at Ohio State (http://discovery.osu.edu/focus-areas/infact/), which seeks transformational solutions to resilient and sustainable food security in Ohio, the nation and the world. Building on 18 new faculty hires across the University, the initiative facilitates teamwork among over 150 Ohio State faculty affiliates and 170 partnering organizations to improve food security with a foundation in healthy agroecosystems, circular economies and equity-focused food cultures.
